Excellence is at the heart of our village school.
We have high expectations of all at Bures: pupils, parents, staff and governors.
With a strong Christian ethos we believe in our Bures School Charter; have the courage to do my best, share and help others, care for everything and everyone, forgive even when it is hard to do so and be honest to myself and others.
We nurture a special interest in every pupil within our innovative curriculum: whether it be an academic, sporting, artistic or musical passion.
Our school ethos is Have a Go and Never Give Up.
Bures Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School is a warm, inviting village school set in the heart of historic Bures. It is our aim to ensure that every child receives the education that they deserve. Our school vision, summed up by our motto Never Give Up, encapsulates well that which we are aiming to accomplish.
Here at Bures academic excellence goes hand in hand with personal success. Be it an interest in sport, music, or art we want all children to grow to be well rounded individuals.

Our Years 3 & 4 Junior Choir have been invited to perform with the Stour Valley Singers and their conductor Susannah Edom, at St Mary’s Church, Bures for a 10-15 minutes slot during the first half of their concert. The concert is due to start at 7.30pm and we are very excited and privileged to be taking part.
Bures Senior Choir have been invited to perform at this year’s Sudbury Choral Society Concert. This is always such a lovely occasion and gives our children the chance to show their talent and perform songs they have practised in choir lessons at school to an audience.
